Story First.

Yo! Welcome to my little corner of the internet!

I'm Milan. I’m a music producer, artist manager, and marketing strategist. I love stand-up comedy, African music, and I’m a firm believer in the magic of stories and community. Think of this blog as my digital living room, where I get to share my thoughts, experiences, and the occasional dad joke from my adventures in the creative industry.

I've always been intrigued by the beautiful chaos that happens when creativity and business collide. It's like watching a symphony orchestra perform - each element has its own role to play, but together, they create something truly extraordinary. I've had the honour of playing a part in my own symphony of sorts, working with phenomenal artists like Mr Eazi, Sishii, Thando Skwatsha and more and partnering with trailblazing platforms like emPawa Africa.

But let's be honest; it's not all red carpets and record deals in the entertainment industry. It's also about the sweat, the setbacks, and the 'aha!' moments that happen behind the scenes. It's about navigating the winding road of a career in the arts, juggling creative passions with paying the bills and embracing the joy of lifelong learning.

In this blog, I'll share stories from my journey, things I’ve learnt from the industry, and my two cents on everything from the power of empathy in teamwork to the art of crafting authentic content. I'll also be diving into some of my favourite topics, like the rising appreciation of African art and culture, the importance of investing in oneself, and the role of humour in keeping us sane and humble on this nonlinear journey.

I hope this blog will offer valuable insights, ignite some thought-provoking discussions, and maybe even inspire a few of you on your own creative paths.

So, whether you're an artist, a creative professional, or just someone who appreciates a good tune and a well-told story, I invite you to join me on this journey.

May we keep going, growing and learning 🥷

Welcome to my story. I’m grateful to have you along for the ride!

Blessings,

-Milan
